Have you noticed the feeling of change in the air? Naturally we feel this at the beginning of any New Year. However this year 2017 is no ordinary year, for in numerology it carries the number 1. (2+0+1+7=10=1). The 1 signifies the beginning of a brand new 9 year cycle. Then, on the 28th January the Chinese New Year begins. The Rooster takes command from the Monkey.
Last year we had a 9 year (2+0+1+6=9), a time of endings and completion. You can read more about this here. Now as we begin a brand new cycle the energy of the 1 encourages us to embrace change and begin anew. There is fresh energy in the air. This is a year for magic and opportunity!
How appropriate then that the Magician Tarot card carries the number 1. The Magician reminds us that we have all the tools at our disposal to create the life that we want.
The energies of the number 1 allow us to birth something new in our lives both in our thoughts and in our actions. It is an exciting time with new creative energies at our disposal. We can use this energy to catalyse our dreams. Be aware however that in a 1 year, manifestation happens at lightning speed. Therefore be careful what you wish for. Keep it positive and always for the highest good!
From Jan 28th 2017, the Chinese New Year begins. 2017 is the year of the Yin Fire Rooster. The Rooster energy carries a very different feel to that of its predecessor the Monkey. There is a prickly, critical feel to the energy this year with an obsession towards detail. There may be times in this Rooster year where you feel quite sensitive to people invading your space. It is important therefore not to get caught up in world events and to detach yourself from the scaremongering of the media which will simply exacerbate this energy. Instead look to the smaller arena in which you can exert your influence, such as your relationships and local communities.
Relationships will take centre stage in this Rooster year. Look to re-define the self-serving Rooster energy to one of self-care. If we view self-care as a stepping stone to creating a healthier sense of self we can use this to improve and create better relationships with others.
In addition, the Fire element of 2017 encourages sharing and connecting with one another. Combined with the Yin energy of the Rooster, this encourages us to come from our hearts. This year it will be important to connect with people and share the love. In doing this we can transmute the prickly, critical Rooster energy into something which serves the greater good.
